The Hydro Rower is Cybex's only rowing machine for home use, incorporating fluid water technology in a compact yet well designed unit. It has a lot of nice features and adjustability.

The Hydro Rower features a walnut brown finish, steel frame and yellow accents.  It has a basic console offering workout feedback such as distance, time, strokes and heart rate.

The Buzz

You don't hear much about the Cybex Hydro Rower, but like the rest of their cardio equipment, this rowing machine is top notch.  Although we prefer the WaterRower Natural, as it has even more features for about $500 less, this one is very well constructed and will give you a great workout.

The Hydro Rower is relatively light and you can easily move it around with the transport wheels, especially when there is no water in the tank.  Speaking of which, the water provides a very natural feel, along with the whooshing sound of being out on the water.

There are 4 levels of resistance to choose from, and the easy to read display gives you all of the relevant data.  You can adjust the footboards and straps, and the handle is ergonomically designed to minimize hand and wrist strain.

The Cybex Hydro Rower comes with a solid warranty, and you can opt for an optional receiver and chest strap for more accurate heart rate readings.

What We Say About the Cybex Rower

The Hydro Rower is certainly a solid piece of equipment, and will fit in perfectly in your home gym environment.  It is well designed and built to last, and the resistance mimics a natural on-water workout.

For our money, however, we would go with the WaterRower Natural or the Classic if you prefer the darker look, both of which are cheaper than the Hydro Rower.
